Cat Conversations: how to be a cat lover and nature steward

We love our cats but sadly, they are not part of our natural landscape and cause rapid declines in populations of native animals. Did you know that cats have been responsible for the extinction of 34 native Australian mammals and currently pose a risk to the extinction of a further 123 species in Australia alone?

Join the conversation as we try to unpack how we can become more responsible cat owners, benefiting both our feline friends and the wider environment.

Helping to guide the discussion will be Wyndham resident Tamika Jones who will share her experience being an indoor cat mama. Wyndham City’s Elaine Bugeja will speak on the current curfew and the community consultation underway to review it and Melbourne University researcher {name here] will share the findings of a recent cat tracking study. There will also be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
