Catch a Carp: Come & Try Fishing Day

Help protect our waterways by removing this invasive species and enjoy a great day outdoors with a free fishing day for families and community.

  • Fishing rods available for hire, bait and tackle provided.
  • Competition with fantastic prizes, supplied by Hooked On Bait and Tackle local fishing store.
  • Refreshments provided by gelato trucks, and community BBQ (including vegetarian and halal options), or bring your own picnic.
  • BYO chairs or rugs, some shade available or bring a shade tent/umbrella.
  • Dress sunsmart and don’t forget your hat and reusable water bottle.
  • Suitable for beginners – volunteers will be on site to help with fishing instruction, baiting hooks and carp handling.

Spend more time fishing and less time filling out forms on the day by pre-registering. Download and complete the registration form below and send it back to jess.fairfax@werribeeriver.org.au by Monday November 20.

Alternatively you can register on the day by 12pm for competition entry, with carp weigh-in for all categories closing at 1.30pm.

Roadside parking available along Manor Lakes Boulevard; 15 minutes walk from Wyndham Vale train station; Bus route 191. Event information centre at reserve entry point corner Dalrymple Boulevard.
