🌿 Friends of Werribee River Park – May 17, 2025: First Planting Event of the Year!
The Friends of Werribee River Park (FOWRP) is a community-driven friends of group dedicated to enhancing the natural environment of Werribee River Regional Park. Operating from May to September, the group engages in activities such as planting, weeding, and mulching to restore habitats and promote biodiversity along the Werribee River .
📅 Date: Saturday, May 17, 2025
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Princes Fwy turn left into Farm Road, which runs through the Western Treatment Plant. Follow it to the end where it turns left onto a gravel road. This road will take you to the car park and start of the walk. (Melways: 224 J5). Proceed down the Boardwalk.

🌱 Event Overview:
Join us for the first planting event of the year as we kick off our monthly Landcare activities at Werribee River Park! Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or a first-timer, your help is invaluable in restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of this 280-hectare park along the Werribee River. Together, we’ll plant native species to support local wildlife and improve habitat connectivity.
🧤 No experience required – all tools and guidance provided.

To ensure a safe and coordinated effort:

Check-in with our Regeneration Coordinator before attending.

Working with Children Check is required (free to apply online).

Wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear. Be sun-smart and bring a water bottle and your own gloves.
