Ride, Write and Ramble at Werribee River Park

A morning of discovery and reflection as we explore one of Werribee’s best kept secrets!

Werribee River Park is located on the west side of the river estuary and is currently only accessible by bike. The Werribee River Association have been undertaking regular planting and maintenance at the park since 2015, planting approximately 20000 plants, trees and shrubs, greatly increasing habitat and biodiversity.

The morning will begin at Wyndham Park, where we will ride together along the river path towards Werribee River Park. Once at the park John Forrester, the Werribee Riverkeeper will take us on a short walk to explore the plants, animals and history of the area. We will then make our way to a secluded picnic spot, to undertake some creative writing, reflecting on our place within this unique ecosystem.

Morning tea will be provided.

Bookings essential.

*Please note there is about 10m of track underneath the Maltby Bypass that is in very poor condition. It requires dismounting, and walking, in what can sometimes be muddy conditions. Please ensure you are wearing closed toe and sturdy shoes.

**All riders will be required to sign a waiver form to take part in this activity.
