On Saturday 25 February 2023, we were alerted to the rescue of two adult ringtail possums from a possum or bird box, which had been fixed to a tree in Riversdale Drive Werribee.
Passers-by summoned some local help to reach and remove the two distressed animals. The box had to be pulled apart in order to release the female who was stuck in the small entrance hole, and the male was found inside, dehydrated and weak. Both animals were attended to by vets at the Werribee Open Range Zoo.
