Catch a Carp Day 2024
Catch a Carp Day is on again at Manor Lakes Reserve.
Help protect our waterways by removing this invasive species and enjoy a great day outdoors with a free fishing day for families and community.
- Learn how to fish, or brush up on your skills with presentations throughout the day from Happy Fisherman.
- Suitable for beginners, with volunteers on site to help with fishing instruction, baiting hooks and carp handling.
- Fishing rods available for hire.
- Bait and tackle provided.
- Competition with fantastic prizes, supplied by Hooked On Bait and Tackle local fishing store.
- Free BBQ (including vegetarian and halal options).
There is some some shade available, but you can also bring a shade tent/umbrella and chairs. Dress sunsmart and don’t forget your hat and reusable water bottle.
How To Get There
Roadside parking available along Manor Lakes Boulevard; 15 minutes walk from Wyndham Vale train station; Bus route 191. Event information centre at reserve entry point corner Dalrymple Boulevard.

Registration Info
The registration tent will be opened from 10 am on Saturday, November 30th 2024, and will close at 12.30 pm on the same day.
All entrants MUST present to the registration tent prior to fishing to collect their age categories wristbands. Wristbands must be worn and shown when presenting to weigh-in.
Fishing times
Saturday 30th November 2024 from 10 am – 1pm
Rod Hire
Rod hire is free but may be limited to 45 mins depending on availability of rods.
Bait
Bait will be supplied at the Bait Station marquee.
Weigh- in Station Times
Saturday 30th November 2024 from 10.30 am – 1.00 pm

- Biggest by length
- Most fish caught
- Smallest fish
- Not a Carp Catch
Prizes to be announced at 1.30 pm and will be a range of different fishing merchandise such as tackle boxes, hats, etc.
Health and Safety Precautions
- All event attendees are asked to be sun safe throughout the day and drink plenty of water.
- All entrants are advised to be vigilant and cautious of snakes while enjoying your day.
- Please be cautious when standing at the lake’s edge and refrain from going into the water, only fishing from the water’s edge is permitted. This also means no water crafts (e.g. kayaks) are to be used by entrants when fishing.
- Be advised that first aid will be provided in the registration tent if required.
- The Catch a Carp event organisers strongly recommend you to NOT eat the fish you catch in the lake and hold no liability for those who choose to ignore this recommendation.
- This is a family event, please be considerate of smoking and vaping in the main event area.
- Please practice good hand hygiene throughout the day. Hand sanitiser will be available at the registration tent and handwashing areas near the toilets.
