Freight terminal scrapped is a win for the community & environment

Pacific National have canned their massive 550-hectare freight hub proposal right in the heart of Little River.

The Werribee River Association are pleased for both the local residents and for the native grasslands and environmental values of the area. Such a development would have severely impacted native and endangered species.

The community were strong in their fight against this development proposal, mobilising individuals and agencies, including Grassy Plains Network and Wyndham City Council.

Our Association is keen to support the restoration of the upper Werribee River catchment, particularly around the areas of Little River, and Balliang, wanting to enable private landowners to improve weed management, and support revegetation.

We welcome opportunities to liaise with the community and landowners further, contact admin@werribeeriver.org.au
